The electric skateboard comparison table is sortable. Simply click on the arrows in the top row. The electric skateboard models are arranged in alphabetical order. You can press Ctrl-F to search for the electric skateboard that you are looking for. Please do note that it can be difficult to build a comprehensive table which works neatly on mobile phones. As such, you will get the best user experience while viewing it on a desktop.
I worked days on end on this comparison tool. Please do note that it is quite difficult if not impossible (at least for me) to build a comprehensive and big comparison chart which looks and works neatly on mobile phones. This comparison chart is best to be viewed on a desktop!

How to Compare Electric Skateboards – What are our Indicators?
How to choose which electric skateboard is the best fit for you.
The Best Electric Skateboard Models
I’ve done several weeks of research regarding the most popular e-boards on the market. I only list reputable electric skateboard companies. I have created a table that, in my opinion, includes a list of the best electric skateboard models. If you don’t find an expected e-board on this list or believe that I should include other boards as well, please let me know in the comment section below.
Price
Electric skateboards can cost anything from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, with the most popular ranging between $400- $5.000. The price of an electric skateboard is dictated by a variety of factors. The brand of the board, which e-board parts are used or included and the type of customer service the company offers are some examples that can contribute to making the prices vary. Depending on the model you purchase, the price can deviate drastically. Furthermore, companies regularly offer special sales, so it’s always a good idea to check the prices on their website before you decide to buy an e-board. If you want to know more about the cost determining factors of e-boards, check out my article.
Top Speed
The electric skateboard is an innovative solution to one of the biggest modern issues; the quest of finding effective transportation. Time is of the essence and the small, portable and light e-board, which can be fun to ride around to boot, is becoming a more common option on the market. Most will be looking for an e-board that lends the bang for its bucks; it will need to be a speedy enough mode of transportation and as such, adequate in comparison to what you’re buying.
The velocities of e-boards can vary greatly. The most common ones can travel from 18 – 28 mph (29 – 45 km/h). The motor power, the riders weight, the terrain and wheel size are all factors that can determine what the model can offer in terms of top speeds. As such, some boards exceed even 40 mph (65 km/h).
If you want to know more about the top speed of electric skateboards, check out my article.
Range
For many commuters, but also hobbyists, the range of an electric scooter is an important thing to consider. How far an electric skateboard can travel without requiring further charging is determined by a lot of different factors. The average e-board can go on for about 12-20 miles in one charging, but the battery size the e-board sports is the main aspect influencing your travel range. One also needs to take the weight of the rider, the average speed of any given journey when estimating the range of an e-board. Furthermore, the motor power or the vehicle, the wheel size and even simple things such as inclines, declines, wind and outside temperature can be factors determining the range of an e-board.
What determines an e-board’s range? Can I increase the range of my board? If yes, how? If you want to know more about these topics, check out my article here.
Weight
Because electric skateboards are designed with a motor to lessen human labour in terms of travel, this results in e-boards having added weight. Therefore, an important subject to examine before a purchase is how much your potential new e-board might weigh.
The weight of an e-board is largely dictated by things such as the size of the battery, motor, deck, trucks and wheels. The average weight of an e-board is between 15 – 28 pounds (6,8 – 12,8kg). If you are curious about the determining factors on e-boards potential weight or you want to know how you can reduce the weight, check out my article here.
Battery Size
As I alluded to briefly earlier on, the battery size is a crucial factor in determining the range of your e-board. What the actual range of any given e-board is isn’t always as easy as to trust the company, as the incentive to sell could rival the quest for honesty. Hence, it is often the case that some companies exaggerate the numbers when it comes to the range of their e-boards.
Therefore, it’s a good idea to look at the size of the battery pack of an e-board, as it is an indicator of its potential range. A good rule of thumb developed by some riders is that there’s an estimated 5 miles range per 100Wh. Hence you should not only depend on an electric skateboard’s stated range, but also the battery’s capacity measured in Wh. If you want to know more about this, check out my article on it here.
Air Travel Friendliness
Although traveling by air to experience a new city, country or province with your electric skateboard can be a wonderful thought, certain things are crucial to know before any travel plans can be made. Because e-boards are fitted with Lithium-ion batteries, there are precautions taken when bringing them onto flights. This is because if such a battery is of poor design, damaged, short-circuited or heated, it might catch fire or explode. It has the potential to be a huge safety hazard, especially during flights. Airline companies, therefore, enforce strict guidelines on these e-boards. In many cases, e-boards with batteries under 160Wh will be permitted, but the individual airlines always have of the last word. Furthermore, if a battery’s capacity is over 100Wh, it will solely be allowed as carry-on baggage.
A damaged or malfunctioning Lithium-ion battery could result in catastrophic, deadly situations on flights and safety should always maintain a top priority. Due to the large battery capacities, most e-boards are not designed for air travel. Hence, make sure of the airline’s policies on Lithium-ion batteries or the battery capacity of your potential future e-board if you’re planning on taking it along on your flights. If you want to know the best way to travel with your electric skateboard, check out my article on air travel.
So if you read “Yes” on my chart or Drag and Drop Tool then it means the battery size is less than 100 Wh. If I have written “Maybe” then the battery size is between 100 and 160 Wh. And if I stated “No (Yes)” then the battery size is changeable and at least one configuration (often the travel battery) is smaller than 160 Wh.
Recharge Time
Taking into consideration how much time it takes to charge an electric skateboard may be vital when deciding which model to purchase. How long it takes to charge your electric skateboard is largely dependent on the battery size and power output of the charger and as such, the charging time can differ widely depending on the model. On average, an e-board will take up to 5 hours to fully charge. If you want to know how much it costs to charge an e-board or if you want to get the 9 best charging tips for electric skateboards, check out my article here.
Hill Climb Ability
For someone living on or along the base of a hill or if your commute is on an incline or decline, an electric skateboard could be an excellent solution to the common commute struggle. However, you’ll want to make sure the model is equipped for conquering these inclines, as some may not. The rider’s weight, gradient percentage, motor power, torque and batter power are all things that can influence an e-board’s ability to travel an incline. If you want to know more about riding an e-board uphill, check out my article here.
Water Resistance / IP Rating
Many have found ourselves wanting to know at one point in time whether an electric skateboard is waterproof. It depends, but sadly most e-boards are not waterproof. Some models of boards, however, are water resistant., meaning they won’t let in water easily. As such, a board traveling on a wet road shouldn’t break. Riding through puddles or into water deep enough to partly submerge the e-board, follows with a high probability that water will get into and damage the electrical parts.
The “IP rating” is a way to measure and judge the water resistance, but the IP rating is not obligatory and costly so not every brand will include the IP rating, no matter whether not their boards meet the standards. I ordered the models in my comparison chart in the following categories:
No official information/ IP rating from the manufacturer or brand
IP 54 definition: (Dust protected) (Spraying water)
IP 55 definition: (Dust protected) (Splashing of water)
IP 65 definition: (Dust-tight) (Splashing of water)
However, this doesn’t mean that riding on an electric skateboard is necessarily favorable. A beginner rider should avoid riding on rainy days or wet streets as it is slippery and making turns can be dangerous. Cautions should be taken when riding, accelerating and braking on wet streets. If you do take the chance as an experienced rider, be sure to wear your helmet, be careful and follow the tips written in my article.
Max Load – Max Weight Limit
it’s important as a rider to know the maximum weight an e-board can support when you plan a purchase. The average electrical skateboard has a weight limit from 200 – 300 pounds (90 – 150kg). The structural design of the e-board model largely determines the maximum weight limit of the rider. The deck, in particular, plays a big role in setting the weight limit that a board can bear. There are several reasons that the weight limit of your e-board is crucial to examine, including:
- Safety reasons (especially braking)
- Performance
- Range
- Lifespan

How come the Revel Kit is not on your list? It’s probably one of the better options out there for 2020.
The drag and drop tool is so cool! I think it shows you are a professional person and really understand what we care.
Thank you, Vivian!
That’s great to hear.
You could also have faboard here. They are good
Fabian Doerig got scammed and Faboard shut down a while ago.
They aren’t operating anymore.
The brand Teamgee is not in your list. They are doing only eskate with accessoiries if need it for maintenance
Hey Eric,
yeah, you are right. Will probably add them to the list and tool in the future.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hello, very nice Table. I just have 2 suggestions for improvement:
1) Please add the following boards (you already mentioned them in other articles): EOVAN (GTS and GTS Carbon Pro) and the Fluxmotion Flux AT
2) The sorting function doesn’t work properly: 90 is above (higher than) 800 etc. Maybe adding leading zeros? (e.g. put in 090 instead of 90 etc.)
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Karlheinz
Hey Karlheinz,
you have some valid points, already working on that. Thanks for the feedback.
Best,
Daniel
Hello!
I read your website, it’s very good.
Learned a lot of knowledge points.
And I am a supplier in China and I want to establish a cooperative relationship with you.
Contact me if you are interested in it
I’m 6’4″, and I’m trying to find a comparison of the pan sizes of e skateboards. Given my height, I prefer as wide a stance as possible. Do you know of any websites that have this? Thanks!
Would love to know how long they all are, and if they have a kick tail or not. Cheers!
